Ray and Betty have been dating for six weeks and tonight they have a date, so why don't you take a trip back to the good old days of the 1920s Harlem Renaissance when people really took a chance to connect and get to know each other. Life during the Harlem Renaissance was divine. It couldn’t have happened at a better time than this because it was just after WW1 and before the great depression. The Harlem Renaissance was said to have started by the black movement to the North in which they had more freedom of expression and at this time money was overflowing; therefore, money for leisure activity such as this could be spent. This was a time for African Americans to show their true colors and stand bold. During this era the music just made you want to get up and do the Charleston. The art was abstract and always told a story of the type of people you might find in Harlem. Oh and the literature was just the bees knees. So come on whatcha waiting for come and see how Ray and Betty are doing.

His art captivates the city, but it's his latest work, Faceless Woman, that leaves everyone in awe and uncertainty. A series of flawless portraits, each one featuring a woman without a face, sparks a single question on everyone's lips: Who is she? As Monroe becomes increasingly obsessed, he discovers that this mysterious woman is more than just a figment of his imagination-she exists, but only in his dreams. Caught between an undeniable connection and an elusive reality, Monroe faces a harrowing choice: chase the woman of his dreams or surrender to a love that could trap him in a world of torment and time. The Girl of My Dreams is a short tale of passion, mystery, and a love that defies the boundaries of time itself. Will Monroe's heart lead him to a reality worth living, or will he be lost forever in a dream he never wants to wake from?

Thad is your run of the mill fourteen year old from Beloit, Alabama in 1948. When his grandmother offers to send him to Harlem for the first three weeks of his summer break Thad is ecstatic. After all it is the birthplace of the Harlem Renaissance. All Thad knows about Harlem is Jazz music and Langston Hughes. When Thad finally gets there it is hardly the Harlem he's heard and read about. Harlem has now become a crime and poverty stricken area where shootings and drug addiction have begun to run rampant in the former Black Arts mecca. The old Jazz clubs are all shut down and the corners are filled with hustlers and former musicians turned junkies looking for a fix. With the help of his cousin Willie, Thad will get a crash course in life outside of his rural Alabama town. This insightful look at the end of the Jazz era offers a gritty real world perspective from the creative mind of novelist Brendan Whitt. This historical fiction piece is one that is sure to keep you turning the page.
