Most parents have a favorite child. This child may be an older brother with great grades and a nice girlfriend and a soccer scholarship to to Notre Dame. This child could also be a younger sister who is seemingly angelic, but has a Master's Degree in pissing off her siblings. In my family, neither of these children are the favorites. In my family, the favorite child is the niece.
Harlow Hall is the type of girl you either love, or you hate. She's the one who laughs too loud, who is famous for her wisecracks at the back of class, and would be given Most Likely To Get Out of Trouble by Smiling as a yearbook superlative. Her cousin, Alexis Hall, is the opposite. Perky, preppy, and nearly perfect, she loves to shop, gossip, and get good grades. (She also doesn't believe in swearing or taking public transportation.)
In the hopes that Alexis' manners and bubbly personality will rub off on their daughter, Harlow's parents send Harlow to the same boarding school as her cousin. What will happen when Alexis, armed with charm and a sunny disposition, tries to help Harlow focus on the future? And what will happen when Harlow shows Alexis that it's okay to live a little?
