Will Emery slip into deeper depression and possibly commit suicide? or will she try to learn to control it?

Choosing between 3 great things is almost impossible...but in the end you can only have one. She doesn't to chose but, putting them through all of that is selfish and heartless. She will pick one, if it's the last thing she does. But it won't be easy, considering the fact that it would an incredible friendship between two and being already commited to a long term relationship.
