Ellis Shepherd grew up in the world of the hospital, but that's not where she wants to be while she's home from college. She doesn't want to be in the place where everyone knows her name. She doesn't want to wake up at 6 am, earlier than any of her regular classes. And she definitely doesn't want to spend all day inside of a gloomy building. Not until she meets the new doctor. A/N: This story is set 20 years later than season 14. The doctor's kids are all now grown up. Most have moved on from the hospital world, but a few are following in their parents' footsteps. I believe that Ellis Shepherd, named after her Harper Avery winning grandmother, would naturally become a surgeon as would the daughter of Jackson Avery, Harriet. A surgical intern was born to the throne, but she doesn't want anyone to know. So when her famous father comes to the hospital to talk to one of her peers, she has to try and keep her relations under wraps. This story begins in the Season 13 finale of Grey's Anatomy. This is my take on the story if instead of it being the beginning of Jaggie, it will be the beginning of a Japril reunion. Story from then on will just be my ideas. ------- Dr. April Kepner is an attending trauma surgeon working at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Along side her is her ex husband and the father of her child, Dr. Jackson Avery who is Head of Plastic Surgery. After an unimaginable situation, they lost their son from osteogenesis imperfecta, a disorder that causes a fetus' bones to break within the womb. The grief, and the different way they handled it, eventually drove them apart, ending their marriage. For a while, they lost sight of why they fell in love in the first place. When April finds out she's pregnant right before they divorce, she keeps it to herself, ultimately driving a wedge between her and Jackson. They eventually get on good terms and have a beautiful daughter, Harriet, together and co-parent her. Later, as orchestrated by his mother when he made a decision to see his father, April accompanied him and not only helped make a little girl speak again but also comforted him when he was disappointed with the father/son reunion. After celebrating their successful surgery, the two find themselves in bed again, a parallel to their first night together. Despite it being amazing, neither knows what it means and this causes them to grow distant again. However, when an explosion and roaring fire takes over the hospital, they both realize they can't live without one another. Embark on this journey where we pretend Japril got everything they deserved and more in Come Home!
