When Prince Tom suddenly has to face the reality of becoming king and having an arranged marriage, he finds sanctuary in a little cottage a mile or so away from the palace. He indulges in a hopeless romance with a peasant girl, Beth, under a false identity. As circumstances at the palace become more complicated, he can only hope his secret lover, his only great escape from it all, can keep him sane without the the affair putting her in danger.

Tom was ditched by his ex girlfriend leaving him with a daughter; Hazel Holland. Fighting to keep up a full time job as an actor and a father, he meets and falls in love with Hazel's primary school teacher who also happens to teach art, music and drama. Obviously a relationship with your daughters school teacher is far from ideal. Tom's ex girlfriend comes back after having left for 6 years trying to claim custody over Hazel. Sometimes all you need is a little bit of love and reassurance now and then and things manage to work themselves out, but will that work in this scenario?
