Cordelia Talionis always thought fate to be a curious little thing. She liked to believe her life wasn't ruled by some omnipotent, unseen force; rather, there were spots her tale must visit, like her conception and her death, but everything between was her choice. As always, Cordelia made it a point to do things she wanted, even if it fell short of the standards set forth for her.
Harry Potter always thought fate to be a nasty, evil thing. He hated knowing his life was out of his hands, ruled by a prophecy foretold before he was born. Practically every choice he made was for the completion of a mission set forth by some unknown figure. For once, he wanted something entirely in his own hands.
Yet, the moment he laid his eyes on that angelic girl on the train in his First Year, he realised fate wasn't too bad.
Was it?
