Argus is a squib. He was hated by his pure blood parents and as soon as he turned 17 they kicked him out. Lauren was also a squib. As soon as her parents found out that she had no magic in her she was left in the street. Eventually they found each other and had children. It was their life goal to be a normal muggle. To prove the wizarding world that they could do just fine without petty things like magic. So after having 3 normal children it was a shock when their youngest daughter, Katherine, got the letter.
