To Nicholas, the world is a series of sharp lines and charcoal sketches. He lives in monochrome, preferring the silence of his own head until the clock strikes 1:00 AM. ​To EJ, the world is too loud, too bright, and far too heavy except for the three tables of distance between him and the boy in the leather jacket. ​When a storm hits the Grey City and the lights go out, the distance disappears. In the dark, lines blur, tea grows cold, and two strangers realize that sometimes, you don't need light to truly see someone.
