Hatchling Stories

This story is part of my short story collection. Every month me and my friends take turns to come up with a prompt to a story. Some are very short, some a bit longer and some I might turn into a larger story later if I ever find the time for it. This was my entry of September 2025. A kid alone in the woods and a dragon that's not sure what to make of him.

The Beast, The Girl, And The Legend. The time will come when The Girl will have to leave, hopefully later rather than sooner. She might not be ready. 'When the last leaf falls, on the last day of winter, I will come for her, be ready.' the mysterious creature said, dipping its head and stalking back, only to brace it's legs and spread its large, webbed wings, and take to the sky. 'SHE IS ONLY A CHILD' the woman screamed after it. Enter, Kaida. Kaida lives in your regular medieval village. All she wants in life is to be like the best hunters in her tribe but, as per usual, guys keep trying to persuade her and her father to marry one of them or settle down and work on sewing or be a housewife. She doesn't want to do that though and continues to hunt and train in a clearing deep in the forest. She has aqua eyes, long blonde and brown ombre hair and wears a black and white robe while not out hunting. ************ The dragoness quickly turned satisfied with her work and took flight out of the cave and into the air 'I will come back for you my daughter,' she said through the link that dragon families shared with each other 'I promise.'

The war between the Spirit and Shadow realm looks to have ended. With the death of the Shadow King. That doesn't mean the war between humanity and otherworldly forces has ended. Evie-Mai and Felix know this better then most, Rex just wants it to stop and Adnan wants people to leave his plants alone. The best escape plans are the ones without too many fine details, more so with someone who can look into the future.

"Specimen D5844 has succeeded in getting a hit on the lab assistant and seems proud of herself. Her intelligence should be monitored, in case there is more than meets the eye." I hiss at the scientist and dig my claws deeper into the lab assistant's angry red skin. He quickly drops me, letting the air flow past me and beat into my scales as I fall. I swiftly start to panic. I hadn't thought this far ahead yet.
