What if Cath hadn't looked back, and gone right into Chess? Would she have made it to the end of the game board and been queened? Would she get her bakery? Would she finally get her happily ever after? Here is the prolouge of Hopeful, a fanfiction inspired by the what-ifs that plauge many fans of Heartless everywhere. It is only a teaser, so be sure to vote and comment if you want more!

The land of Chess is at war. Before falling in love with Catherine, our beloved Jest met Princess Lily, the daughter of the White Queen. The ongoing war between the red and white queendoms may require the gracious jester to have a courtship with the princess, a girl he hardly knows, to save his country. ~Jest's life may have ended in the land of Hearts, but this is his life as a Rook (and jester?) in Chess.~ (NOTE: This is a prequel to Heartless. ALSO: This suggests romance, but there isn't any. I'm a hardcore JestXCath shipper.)

What would you do with a second chance that you had no idea about? Jest and Lady Pinkerton have another chance to land their hearts into one. But no longer hold memory of the previous past, where Alice gave up her own freedom and life becoming a sister of the well in order to get Old Man Time to give them a second chance. But how will this end? Will Alice be free? Would Lady Pinkerton have her dream? Would Jest have his life and love in arms? Would Hatta have his sanity? Or was all for nothing?

Cath is forced into a courtship with the king, heartbroken over her own dreams she is drawn towards the warm lemon eyes of the kings own Joker. (I do not own Alice in wonderland, Heartless or any of the characters. They belong to Marissa Meyer & Lewis Carroll)

Down, down, down the Rabbit hole, but there is a promise that Alice has to commit to. A strange ghost named Jest needs help to mend the soul of the Heartless Queen that he once loved. Alice dives into this believing it would just be a simple good bye, but would the Heartless Queen would just want to leave it at that?

Jest is alive. He doesn't know how, or why, but he's alive. He stumbles upon a tea party. The host non other than the Mad Hatta. But attending was a field mouse, a March hare, a hound, a black raven, and a girl. She had hair, that almost looked black, green eyes, a red heart painted on her cheek and a golden crown set atop her head. ❤️ Catherine hasn't married the king, and she now lives with Hatta. (The two people on the front cover are what Catherine and Hatta look like in this book!) I wanted to add that I do not own any of Marissa Meyer's characters, and that she is an INCREDIBLE author! It had been five years since Catherine Pinkerton has become the Queen of Hearts. Her heart, still gone, could not feel. But she could act, and act she did for the new one that had come into her life less than those five long years ago.

This is a Sequel/ Alternative ending to HEARTLESS what if it wasn't Jest that died, but Cathrine? Jest is broken. Devastated. HEARTLESS. He soon returns to Hearts, only to learn that there is a way to bring Cathrine back. The love of his life. He makes a deal, but with every deal comes a price. In this case, he must steal the Heart of the Red Queen. Jest, along with Cathrine, Hatta, Raven, and new friends and foes along the way, will have to travel to Chess. New challenges appear along the way, along with a mysterious man who competes with Jest for Cathrine's Heart. Who will she choose? Will Jest be able to follow his end of the deal? After all, Impossible is his specialty. This story is all about Romance, and Danger, Action, and it will make you want to throw your device across the room. Also note this story was made because of how upset I was with the ending of Heartless, and I didn't find what I wanted in other fan fictions, so I made my own.
