Bridget and Maddox had been best friends since they were teenagers, and while she was preparing for her reign, she shared adventures with him, sneaking away from the boring court meetings to explore every corner of Wonderland together. He made her have fun, and she confided things in him that she would never trust anyone else with. They were so close that people whispered that the future Queen of Wonderland was romantically involved with the Mad Hatter's son. Those rumors could not continue; therefore, the king, queen, and the royal court took an extreme measure that changed the lives of those two people forever, wanting to prevent what could become a reality, no matter the cost. Strangely, Maddox almost destroyed Wonderland, and immediately, he was branded a danger to everyone. The princess was forced to testify that he was a threat to the kingdom, and he was sent to the Isle of the Lost, where he ended up living among the villains as if he were one of them. Meanwhile, at her coronation, she married the Prince who had been imposed upon her since childhood, with whom she fathered her two teenage daughters, Red and Pink. For years, she made Wonderland a kingdom full of light, love, and kindness. But even if she never said it out loud, she did not believe in those fairy tales of true love told by other kings and queens. To her, true love was only what she felt for her daughters, and nothing more. Her smiles had begun to feel fake ever since Maddox was banished, and she never stopped feeling guilty; however, for years, her mind kept repeating that everything was better this way, that he was a villain and she was a noble monarch, and that would never change. Because yes, Maddox had become someone far too dangerous, who waited patiently for years for the barrier to be torn down so he could return to Wonderland and take his revenge by destroying everything the Queen of Hearts had built for years, ready to face the woman who had delivered him to that hell.
