This is a collection of essays I wrote based on a tumblr post I once saw. Each colour was posed to my tumblr followers and Facebook friends as a writing challenge which included a "taboo list". The challenge was to describe each colour in its turn without using any of the seven words from the taboo list. This is the result of each of my prompts. Except for "Blue" (examples are in the introduction), each essay will end with my favorite two responses to the tumblr/Facebook challenge. Each chapter is dedicated to the first four people to respond appropriately to the prompt.

Thirty-five years of time have passed like the asphalt road shaded by the plane trees in front of the institute, running through my memory deeply and shallowly. But every time I close my eyes, the steam rising from the canteen window, the salty aroma of the food, the crisp sound of the enamel bowls colliding, and... the scene of her turning around unexpectedly, are as vivid as yesterday.

Some people are never meant to meet, but sudden changes shift everything. Change's visceral effects grow so slow, no one notices how different everything is until they look back. We are all forgotten no matter who we become.

Crystal lives in a place where it is the norm to have a magic power. She enjoys living here. The only thing bothering her is the constant ache in her heart, a void she needs to fill. She tries to ignore it amd everyone tells tell her it must be the natural void in her heart where her biological parents belong. But deep down, she senses it is more than that. Blossom has the life of a fairy tale princess who's happily ever after started when she was born and has continued with minimal intereption since. She has picture perfect parents, a boyfriend, and even the means to follow her passion. Yet she also is too haunted by the constant feeling of missing something to be truly content. When something like a new memory begins to form in the mind's of these two girls, they find themselves asking questions they never thought they'd have to ask-and a task they were sure they would never have to undertake. But the memory is foggy... Hazy... too faint to be anything more than a dream... Right?
