Hannah is a sweet and playful five year old girl who loves to play. She loves animals and Pokemon. She loves her parents very much. They love her very much too. One day Hannah feels very unwell. Her parents take her to Children's Medical Center Dallas. There they say Hannah has dilated cardiomyopathy and she needs a new heart. Hannah needed a heart transplant. Hannah is ready to be brave and strong while waiting for her new heart.

She wasn't supposed to die. At least, not so fast. Especially not since she hadn't dated her crush yet.

Hot shot is five years old he lives with his parents Heatwave and Quickshadow and their two year old Dalmatian Fireplug. Heatwave is a firefighter and Quickshadow is a pediatric cardiologist. Hot shot is a wonderful child with a big heart and life and he loves to play. Hot shot has always been very healthy and full of energy. However that was changing. Hot shot was tired, he was weak, he was ashy colored, he was out of breathe, he felt sick, he vomited, he felt dizzy, he felt like his chest hurt, and he felt pounding in his chest. His parents took him right too Texas Children's Hospital before bed when Hot shot was complaining he felt bad. The doctors run a series of tests and tell them Hot shot has dilated cardiomyopathy and is in severe heart failure and needs a heart transplant. Hot shot is put on the heart transplant list and Quickshadow works there is good heart transplant program there Hot shot makes friends with four other kids his age with the same condition who also need new hearts. Three boys Hoist, Medix, and Wedge and a girl named Whirl. Hot shot has to be hospitalized due to his condition and never gives up hope for his new heart. His friends don't give up either. Daryl Dixon is 31 year old man that's works at a car repair shop , married to 29 year old 1st grade teacher Beth Greene. They have an eight year old daughter named Bailey Dixon, she's smart, intelligent, and athletic. Daryl didn't think he could have so much and more. They were a happy family until they found out there daughter had a enlarged heart ( hear failure ) and couldn't receive a transplant because the HMO insurance they had wouldn't cover it , so the only way to get their daughter name on the recipient list is to pay 25,000 dollars in cash. After a while, Beth called Daryl from the hospital saying they were releasing Bailey because they did not have the whole amount of money. In which Daryl takes things in his own hands . Heatwave and Quickshadow have just moved to Fort Worth Texas. They got a house with more than one bedroom. It is a good thing to because they are expecting their first baby. Heatwave is a firefighter who now works at a local firehouse. Quickshadow is a pediatric nurse who now works at Cook Children's hospital They are very happy that their baby was going to be born in a few months. However there joy turns to worry when they find out their baby has a severe heart defect. They turn to Cook children's hospital who offers care for their baby. Their son is born and they name him Hot shot. Hot shot has several surgeries his first few years. Hot shot has friends he made at the hospital with similar heart defects. Hot shot at five years old needs a new heart. He is put on the transplant list. This one might be the first one done at Cook Children's. Hot shot finds out his friends need new hearts too.
