Heatherkit and her littermates are very excited to become apprentices at last. But what happens when Heatherkit's own brother becomes a bloody, violent killer? Heatherpaw encounters a prophecy that warns her about her future. After becoming a full warrior, Heathersong soon discovers that she may be the last target of her brother. Heathersong knows that she has to face her brother herself in battle. And like the prophecy says..."there is only one that will survive."

The three are given a prophecy in their dreams from Ambertail, a StarClan warrior. As the three grow, they're introduced to new lies that may affect the warrior code, and the lives of the Clans. Heatherkit is determined to keep things in order when things begin to fall apart, not just for the sake of her Clan, but something that may affect all four.
