Jasmine Dean has not had an easy life. Her mother died when she was eight, and her twin brother, Jason "JD" Dean, died when she was fourteen, after defending her from their father in one of his drunken states. To honour his memory, Jasmine takes her brother's former nickname, JD, and begins going by that name herself. She has been through ten high schools, and she doubts her most recent one, Westerburg High, will be any different.
