The idea is simple: I wanted to bring together the ESSENTIAL Metal collection. Each short chapter gives information and trivia about a specific subgenre or icon in the world of Heavy Metal and is accompanied by the essential playlist of said subgenre or icon. I don't own any of the songs I list, these lists are pure for my fun and to promote some underground and forgotten artists. I urge people to support the original artists :) I also do not own any graphical art or logo used (although most of the artwork seems to have disappeared). Neon Cathedral is an absurdist, comedic musical project I started, which is a kind of storytelling medium for a collective of characters. Led by enigmatic front man Saint Boogie, it explores what happens when people of many different musical backgrounds encounter a mysterious disco church. The mirrorball-headed, pompadour-sporting, Saint Boogie is a lover of many types of music. He invites any musical style to integrate and reinvent itself through the filter of a liturgical disco aesthetic. But who is the musician and entertainer behind this character that we see on stage? This is the origin story of man behind the Saint Boogie character, and the Neon Cathedral Music concept as a whole.
