Nicola "Nikki" Rivera never knew her father, as his name and identity was kept secret from her mother, Imelda, and her sister has only revealed one thing about him: he has a love of music, something Nikki has a passion for. So when she enters a fight with her mother and family, Nikki runs away and learns that The late Diego de la Cruz claims to know a Rivera. So, Nikki needs his help finding her father. She enlists the help of Hector after trapping herself in the land of the dead and has to find her father before sunrise. Or the AU where Hector and Imelda have a second kid, who gets cursed, meets Hector and needs him to get her to Diego, who may know her father's identity.

It's 1936 and the up and coming musical duo play in the plaza day after day. It's usually the same old routine: they play, one gets fawned over while the other cleans his guitar. That is until our leading lady shows up and falls for talent and big ears instead of talent and big ego.

Miguel discovers that his deceased family performs at Plaza De La Crazy every week. When they put on a show for Miguel, Imelda spot a mysterious little skeleton girl who wore a white rose. That same night, El Santo invites the Riveras to his masquerade ball. There, Coco easily bonds with the same little girl who's name was Dawn. Turns out Dawn is more than just a normal little girl.

Edit 5/13/22: I have unpublished the other story and will not be continuing it or this one. I realized that I have appropriated two separate cultures as a white person and deeply apologize. This story is being continued in another book. I am keeping this book to compare how much I have grown in writing. The way he plays with his guitar. His messy hair and dark brown eyes including his white smile. He's the perfect man. "Your eyes reminds me of the beautiful stars in the sky señorita." He complimented me and held my chin up. "But what are the stars when there is no moon to stay by your side?" He leaned in closer trying to close the gap between us. I couldn't help it. I've fallen for him knowing that I shouldn't be.

Alice and Imelda may be completely different characters but that didn't stop me from making this fanfic! I thought I'd get creative. Don't worry, I made sure to keep Imelda in character as much as possible. In this fanfic, Imelda winds up in Wonderland and comes across strange and wacky characters that just happened to look like her family, friends, and a certain enemy.

so I told myself not to do this but here we go..... in which Miguel and his twin sister Lorena travel back to the land of the dead for a second time. hopefully though, they can get back home before it is too late.
