It's been six years since we left the gang. Arnold and everybody else graduated from P.S. 118 and moved up to middle school at P.S. 120. When Arnold was in 7th grade, his grandmother, Pokie had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and ended up in a nursing home. Arnold's grandpa was afraid that him and Arnold's grandmother wouldn't be able to take care of him so he sent Arnold to Maryland- his grandpa had family there. Gerald and Arnold promised they would stay friends and surprisingly they did. They talked nearly every single day. When 8th grade began and Arnold wasn't there, he felt like he had been because of Gerald, but everybody felt his absence. Especially Helga. As the years passed, Helga's creepy obsessive love for Arnold dwindled into a more appropriate sweet puppy love. Just before Arnold left, they had even been on the road to becoming friends. After he left he left Helga was heartbroken. Arnold was her first love after all. But as time went on she accepted that Arnold was a part of her childhood and that she shouldn't wait for him forever. Helga never thought forever would come as soo as her sophomore year in high school at P.S. 121.

What would've happened if Arnold gave Helga a chance to be nice in Egg Story instead of jumping all over her? Alternate Universe/My Version of the Hey Arnold episode "Egg Story." Completed.

I want to think about a few things during middle school .in the 6th grade . adjusting to a new school year is a bit of a challenge . I bet I would make a friend or so like everyone else. Gerald was waiting at his locker. due to him packing up lunch as a reporter in medieval times. his closest companion phonbe was on the phone .as they were clearly dating . wait, one minute my bestie was in love . anyway, I'm helga pataki, a freshman in the middle . a bag in one hand as I drew in my skecthbook. a picture of a girl in pink with pigtails as she travels around the world.

Helga spots the football head standing in line in a coffee shop and decides to seize the moment.

Helga reads of others who have also suffered unriquented love, and their ways of dealing with it is hard for her to come to terms with. What will she do while trying to finally get over arnold and start loving herself and slowly falling for her best friend.

*THIS IS A CANON-DIVERGENT RETELLING OF 2017'S HEY ARNOLD! THE JUNGLE MOVIE* I wrote this story from 2005-2011, back when The Jungle Movie looked like it had a snowball's chance of being developed. In the original edit of the story, I gave Arnold the last name of Schwartz; official canon confirms that his last name is actually Shortman. Fan consensus at the time had already come to this conclusion, so when I re-released the story on Deviantart, that was one of the first changes I made. At the time when I initially wrote the story, it was script format, as I wasn't quite comfortable with writing traditional narrative. Now, with several other fanfics under my belt, I feel like it's time to re-visit the story one final time and present it in a way that most fans would prefer to have it read. It may seem redundant to post this again now that the story was officially concluded in 2017, but I'd like one final opportunity to express what I was hoping for from The Jungle Movie. Thank you, and enjoy my vision.
