In all of my 900 years, I haven't once thought of having a mate. Not because of all the baggage I hold or that I'm afraid it wouldn't work out or anything like that. It's because I'm cold as ice. I'm a terrible monstrosity that shouldn't walk this earth but got lucky because my parents mated illegally. I'm not supposed to care about anyone else. Hell, all I care about is pretty much fighting, drugs and money. The only exception is my best friend and that's only because we share blood. Having a mate would melt my ice and the other thing inside me wouldn't be happy about that. That's the problem, I have two colliding forces in my head and they never let up. One wants to live happily ever after with her mate and the other wants to live a live full of thrills and bloodlust. And I don't know which one to choose.
