Francesca Atkins-Froe had never been one to shy away from a fight. Hard-headed and fiercely-independent, she held her own. At least, she used too. All it took was one boy, one failed group of friends, for it all to come crashing down.
Now, she enjoyed being alone, or at least claimed she did. Making friends her age was no longer a priority, but she declined to tell anyone why. She puts on the act of being who she once was, and nobody can tell she's changed. In an effort to protect herself, she stuffs down her crippling grief and moves through her life as simply as possible. It wasn't easy, but what in this new world ever was?
Henry Peletier is driven by a need for change. He loves his adoptive parents, of course he does. But his home brings memories of darker times, times he can't escape while there. He desires to leave the Kingdom, vanquish his "royal" duties, yet he never makes a move to do so. It isn't until one fateful, violent night, that the decision is made for him. In spite of it all, he takes it in stride, but keeps his past hidden away, believing that forgetting was the best way of moving on.
They are two paths heading towards convergence.
