Quran For All - In Every Hand, In Every Heart. "Do Not Wish For Death" By Zainab Habib Between her sobs, I heard her mumble "I wish I was dead!" "How bad could her situation be?" I thought to myself. It couldn't be worse than the hardships our Prophet (saw) or his companions went through and yet they were forbidden to wish for death. Physical, emotional or financial problems, singly or combined can put us into that kind of short-sighted mode. We tend to forget that we have been told not to wish for death. We forget that with death, our troubles may not necessarily come to an end as we do not know what awaits us after it.

So this is my first post on this amazing book. Even though "Fiqh-ul-Quloob" has been a fascinating journey, so far (and it's just started!), sometimes you need a moment that just hits you and you cannot help but write about it. Muhammad Bin Ibrahim Bin Abdullah Al Tawaijiri seems to sum up the recipe for success in life in this sentence; Roughly translated, "The world is an abode for needs, whereas Paradise is the abode for desires, so we take from this world as much as our need, and we fulfill the commands of Allah as much as our strength allows, and Allah will fulfill our desires on the Day of Resurrection in Paradise, the abode of perfection of blessings." How do you present proof of this religion to those who do not speak the language of the Arabs or know anything about the inimitable eloquence of the Qur'aan? Is it the only way for them to learn this language of the Arabs and to master its sciences? The answer, of course, is no. Allah, may He be Glorified and Exalted, has shown mercy to them and to all other generations by sending the appropriate evidence to all mankind, irrespective of their different races, languages, and times.

Quran For All - In Every Hand, In Every Heart "Is Taqleed The Only Option For The Common Person?" by Shaikh Muhammad Naasirud-Deen al-Albanee (rahimahullah) Does the common person even have the ability to refer to the proofs of the scholars or is Taqleed (blind following) his only option? Common people are not all the same when it comes to comprehending the meanings of the texts of the Qur'aan and the Sunnah. The assumption that a common person has absolutely no ability to distinguish between the strength of arguments in two opposing positions of scholars is incorrect. In the words of Shaikh al-Albanee (rahimahullah), 'Scholars do not disagree concerning the obligation upon the common people to imitate their scholars. They are the ones mentioned in the verse, 'And ask the knowledgeable about it.' [(25):59]

This spiritual fantasy story is set in a world where the main character is in Paradise, experiencing his life, also known as the Afterlife or life Hereafter. It describes the characters as attending group meditation sessions, in their harmonious Hereafter, amazing Afterlife, and perfect Paradise. For the dwellers of Paradise, there is peace and pleasure without pain, joy and happiness without sadness, sorrow, or suffering, and delight without discomfort. In short, all perfection without imperfection of any kind. But is all as it seems?

They were talking about it for days. They couldn't wait to witness this spectacular phenomenon. After all, it would be the last total lunar eclipse until next year! Some sent emails, some made special plans, some gathered with family and friends so that they can watch and 'enjoy' these few moments together, to be 'entertained' by the night sky, laughing, joking, having a good time. The lunar eclipse was expected to 'delight' skywatchers across the United States and much of the world. Now let's rewind and go back 1400 years ago. It was a similar time. The desert sun was shining brightly when all of a sudden, darkness gathered in the middle of the day. The sun could no longer be seen. It was a solar eclipse. What did the Prophet (Sal Allaahu Alaiyhi wa Sallam) do? What did the Sahabah do? Did they all gather together to ' witness this spectacular phenomenon'?...... so that they can 'enjoy' these few moments together?..... to be 'entertained' by the afternoon sky, laughing, joking, having a good time??? NO. What did they do at the time of the eclipse??

"Jannah: Just a wish or a Reality??" by Asma bint Shameem When Fir'aun found out that his wife Aasiyah believed in Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala, instead of in him, he was furious! How could she? He ordered his guards to beat her. They tied her hands and feet, and beat her mercilessly in the scorching desert heat. She turned to Allah and prayed, "My Lord, build for me a home with You in Jannah and save me from Fir'aun and his deeds and save me from the Zaalimun ( wrong-doers and disbelievers in Allaah)." (Surah at-Tahreem:11). That was her wish. To be in Jannah. And she got it. It is said that when she said this, the sky opened for her and she saw her home in Jannah. She smiled. Frustrated and angry, the guards picked up a huge rock to crush her completely. But before they could do that, Allah took her soul and she became an example for all the believing men and women until the end of time. Wishes, hopes and aspirations! Who doesn't have them?
