"That's enough," I declared, stepping in before things got messier than they already were. I flexed my fingers, and as if answering the command, a spear of glowing steel appeared in my palm. "Everyone get to safety," I ordered the remaining people at the scene.
"Serenity," Landon hummed flatly, his eyes roaming across my features unappreciatively. "Can't get enough of me?"
I narrowed my eyes at his arrogance. "Charming. Let the man go."
"See, I'm afraid that's not going to happen," he cocked his head to the side, shooting me a tight-lipped smile and holding his spear to my neck.
My eyes flicked down at the blade, before back up to him. "What'd he do this time? Hurt your ego?"
The cold steel pressed harder against my skin at that, and I nearly chuckled.
