Hester soon becomes tired and seeks a new life but plans take a turn and she soon finds herself prisoner to 'The Collectors' as a result of a split second decision. Mortal Engines Fanfiction: A year after the fall of London, Tom and Hester sought out for a peaceful life together as aviators and traders with their airship, The Jenny Haniver. Strangely, peace in this world is just a wishful thought. The characters and idea of moving cities and Mortal Engines do not belong to me. They belong to British author Philip Reeve so does some of the characters and cities. Inspiration from The Bird Roads by giles_cassie.
