Adeline Jackson had a good life - an ideal life. She was from one of the wealthiest families on the island. Everything had been handed to her on a silver platter her entire life. It was easy to slip into bad habits when you were a kid with so much money you didn't know what to do with it. This also made it incredibly easy for her grades to slip, horrendously. Harrison Jackson and Matilda Jackson were relentless when it came to her future, and so when their daughter's attention got dragged from her studies, they decided something had to change. Thus, Pope Heyward enters her life. Her parents had hired him as her new tutor, he got paid and could add it to his admission to some fancy school he was always talking about applying to. The two kids had been awkward the first couple of sessions, Adeline in a quiet rage and Pope walking on eggshells as she was not subtle at all with her anger. However, by the third session, they were talking, she asked questions about his stupid fancy school, and he asked where she wanted to go to college. And by a year later, they were actually friends. Of course, he could never tell his friends and she could never tell hers, but they secretly had each other's back. Her life was going smoothly, albeit a few rocky bumps over the years, that was until she witnessed heyward being jumped by another man, looking for Pope. That was until she found out Pope was looking for some cross, the same cross her older brother, Eli Jackson, disappeared looking for three years ago. And then? Her life goes off the fucking rails.

Hannah Heyward needs to face the facts: She's dead. There's no way she's coming back, to live, to laugh, to be with the people she loves. But then she's given a chance, a chance to say goodbye to the one person she loves most.
