The Time Machine is a science fiction novella by H. G. Wells, published in 1895 and written as a frame narrative. The work is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposely and selectively forwards or backwards in time. The Time Traveller had finally finished work on his time machine, and it rocketed him into the future. When the machine stops, in the year 802,701 AD, he finds himself in a paradisiacal world of small humanoid creatures called Eloi. ... Meanwhile, he saves one of the Eloi from drowning, and she befriends him.

This is credible science fiction, set against the factual story of the development of East Kent coalmines 100 years ago including the strange beginning of the famous Aerial Rope Way carrying the coal from the Tilmanstone Colliery to Dover Port . Godwin-Austen the geologist discovers coal at Tilmanstone with the help of a strange young girl, Lizzie Lickorish, who is very intelligent and knowing for a Victorian country girl and has a secret to reveal. Very soon a science fiction story develops that is mystifying, affecting many of the characters in the village, with Godwin and Lizzie being the central players. Tragedy features with a disaster at the new mine, unexplained deaths including the vicar's demise!

In a distant future, there lived a peaceful lifeform on Earth, titled humanity, who thrived on trading, cultivating and lying. And almost like a sign from God, a superior life form shot down with a strange urgency, and they set their sights on them. Many prayed, hid and waited for it to end. But it felt like it never would, so all we were left with was the instincts to survive and hopefully outlive this otherworldly punishment.
