And almost like a sign from God, a superior life form shot down with a strange urgency, and they set their sights on them. Many prayed, hid and waited for it to end. But it felt like it never would, so all I was left with was the instincts to survive and hopefully outlive this otherworldly punishment.

The Time Machine is a science fiction novella by H. G. Wells, published in 1895 and written as a frame narrative. The work is generally credited with the popularization of the concept of time travel by using a vehicle that allows an operator to travel purposely and selectively forwards or backwards in time. The Time Traveller had finally finished work on his time machine, and it rocketed him into the future. When the machine stops, in the year 802,701 AD, he finds himself in a paradisiacal world of small humanoid creatures called Eloi. ... Meanwhile, he saves one of the Eloi from drowning, and she befriends him.

Inspired by classic science fiction and the space opera serials of the 30's, 40's and 50's, Anthony Fleming presents "The Adventures of Captain Sparke" in serialized pulp form. Set against the backdrop of a colonized Solar System, where alien species are nothing out of the ordinary and law is maintained by the Federation, Captain Sparke is a Galaxy Fixer, a Space Wanderer. Aboard his ship the Spitfire class fighter "Argonaut" and forever on the run, Sparke seeks out problems and jumps into danger just for the thrill of it, to experience as much as humanly possible, to see the stars up close. But how close before he gets burnt? The Adventures of Captain Sparke is Science Fiction at it's best, bringing you the escapades of a swash buckling, lantern jawed hero in the same vein as Flash Gordon & Dan Dare with a bit of the rouge of Han Solo thrown in. Captain Sparke is a classical protagonist, for a more civilized age.

Based on the 1895 novel by H.G. Wells, The Time Machine: The Narrator's Journey takes place 50 years after The Time Machine. The Narrator from the first book has waited many years for the Time Traveller to return. He'd visit the old laboratory everyday. One day, an old memento of the Time Traveller returns to the lab, and it sends the Narrator on his journey. Before reading this short story, I recommend reading H.G. Well's book The Time Machine to learn about the Time Traveller, then come back and see the Narrator journey through time.
