⠀⠀⠀Destiny is a strange thing. No one can truly understand it. Most of the time, the things it does are inexplicable and impossible to make sense of.
⠀⠀⠀Destiny brings people together.
⠀⠀⠀I believe fate brought me to where I am now, surrounded by people I call home. But life wasn't always like this.
⠀⠀⠀Friends don't kiss.
⠀⠀⠀But we did.
⠀⠀⠀I was trembling all over, from the cold and from you. I could feel your warmth even though you were standing three steps away. I could feel your heart beating. Could you feel mine? It pounded like that of a cornered rabbit, caught in a trap. And maybe that's what I was-trapped in your eyes, with no way out.
⠀⠀⠀I lifted my head toward the full moon above us. You kept looking at me like the starry sky was nothing compared to me. As if I was the best thing that had ever happened to you. That's what you were to me too, though I never would've admitted it to anyone.
⠀⠀⠀I couldn't speak. The words got stuck in my throat, inexplicably silenced by the sound of my heart trying to break free from my chest with every step you took toward me.
⠀⠀⠀Your warmth was overtaking every part of me, holding me tighter, more and more. You didn't want me to leave. I didn't want you to go. But we both knew all too well that this was destiny, and there was no way to fight it.
⠀⠀⠀But souls that are meant to be always find their way back to each other.
⠀⠀⠀Just like you're here next to me now.
⠀⠀⠀Three steps away, eyes fixed on the painting showing the moon, the stars-and us.
⠀⠀⠀And I'm looking at you as if nothing else around you exists
