Unspoken Truth follows fifteen year old Janie, a girl growing up in poverty in rural San Diego California. At home Janie is the protector. As the oldest of three, Janie became the mother figure for her siblings at a young age. With two parents on drugs and a broken home life, Janie tries to shield her younger siblings. While at school Janie always kept her head down and tried to not draw attention to herself. Ashamed of her home life, she tried to hide the truth from everybody. Until the day her father is arrested for murder and the entire town is rocked by the news. Janie soon goes from a wallflower to the talk of the school.
