Boruto is now a 16 year old Jonnin ranked ninja, however something bothers him. The relationship between his parents. He knows only what's on the surface but not what actually goes on with his parents. He thinks his dad doesn't do much for his mother and needs a plan for his dad to show more affection to her. Once he knows that both his parents are still deeply in love with one another, Boruto thinks what would happen to either one of the his parents if they are separated. He didn't know he would be actually living the experience.

Btw I do read the manga and watch the anime so don't think I didn't. Because a lot of things happen that don't actually happen.
