"I refuse to believe that!" Luke yelled. "If what you're saying is true, then how come you've been saving me this entire time, even when you almost die? How come you saved me that first time?" "I saved you because I've been in love with you since the day we met!" Ro shouted. Luke watched all the fight leave him at once. "I.." he cut himself off. His eyes got misty and Luke's heart twinged in pain. "You.. you love me?" Luke asked. Ro burned a hole in the ground with his eyes. He shook his head firmly. "No." He said. "No I don't." Luke took a step towards him. "You're in love with me?" Ro looked so tired and gaunt, as if he hasn't slept right or eaten properly in years. He raised his eyes to meet Luke's and looked every bit like a cornered animal. Luke took another step towards him. "I feel like you're focusing on the wrong thing here." Ro weakly said. "I'm a terrible person, remember? I'm evil and the worst and a traitor to the throne. I should be hanged for this- you, you should hate me for this." Luke stepped closer still. Ro was capable of terrible things; Luke had witnessed them. Yet all he could see was Ro's golden eyes staring at him the same way they had stared at him when Ro had first saved his life, all those months ago. ****************** Luke was the Crown's spoiled prince, the King's favorite child, and the heir to the throne.
