Kingdom of Macedon, around 343 B.C. Hephaestion was only a young page at Alexander's service, but the two quickly became inseparable friends and lovers. Together through every war, through every conquest, and united even in the pain of losing their respective fathers. Inseparable companions, loyal to each other until the end like Patroclus and Achilles before them. The son of General Amyntor managed to reach the highest office, that of Chiliarch, just one step below the king's own role. The love between Alexander and Hephaestion has been erased from history, but has nevertheless remained immortal exactly like that of the Iliad's hero, ancestor of the young Macedonian prince himself. «Darius will bow at your feet, my king.» «And what shall I do, when that happens?» «You will have to be yourself, Alexander.»

This is the story of Robin, a man pulled into a tournament with no knowledge of what is to come. This story is the first in a planned series of books, which will be written and published some time in the future. Just something that I wrote way back at the start of the year. It's hard to describe, but... I'm proud of this work. I enjoyed writing it, so I hope you enjoy reading it. Please leave a review if you can! Any input or ideas for future stories is appreciated.

Running. That's all I could do, that's all I needed to do. I didn't even know from what it was exactly I had to run from, or why for that matter. All I knew is it would be very very hazardous if I was caught. All around me, everything was a wreck. It looked as if it had once been beautiful, it had to have been. Granite walls strung with ripped paintings, hall tables with expensive looking tarnished and cracked center pieces on them and marble floors that had to make a lot of noise when your shoes moved on them- which is probably why I was barefoot. It was the fallen house of a great empire, a shadow of what it should have been. As I turned a corner blindly, arms grabbed me. The rough cloth of the sleeves around me scratched my bare arms. I wanted to scream and I would have if a hand haden't smothered itself over my mouth. Instead I settled for crying as the arms dragged me back. Back to what I had been so desperately running from. * * * Stasia had never led a remarkable life and- she knows it. She was a high school student who had a decent home life, two loving parents and got pretty good grades. But when mysterious strangers pop into her life she finds out 1) that her past is more shrouded than she could ever think and 2) that she might have just been wrong about her life is anything but unremarkable...
