Angelica's wits had never truly been matched. True, her Father's books were written by brilliant philosophers that could easily outsmart her, if they were alive. Everyone around her was just slower. Angelica wasn't mad or proud about it, just bored. Only a little bit bored that no one seemed to be able to match her fast pace of thinking. Except for Alexander. Alexander Hamilton was special. From the moment Angelica met him, she felt a spark ignite within her. Their first conversation was slow, but Angelica's heart raced. Everything about him seemed to captivate her. There were only three problems: One, Angelica was meant to marry rich. Her father had spent careful time picking men for her to meet, in the hopes that she'd allow one of them to court her. Alexander hadn't the money nor the family to be on the list. Two, Angelica had said multiple times that she wouldn't marry a man who only wanted her for her name. She'd be naive to assume Alexander was different simply because he was special. Three, Eliza was in love with him. From the moment she saw him, her helplessness was palpable. Angelica felt horrible letting Alexander be the one that got away, but she knew that she would feel even worse if she robbed love from her own sister. It seemed there was just no chance for the two of them. From the moment they'd met, the odds had been harshly opposed to them. Angelica, being the eldest and wittiest out of her sisters, learned quickly to accept that. She quieted her heart and accepted that, even after marriage, her bottled wit would only ever be matched in books. She accepted that she would never truly be satisfied. But what if she didn't?
