Through hitchhiking, interesting bus partners, homeless philosophers and genius children, Alex learns once more what it means to be alive.

Two girls go on what they plan to be an amazing summer road trip. But they happen to run into some.. unexpected.. surprises. And surprises cannot always be a good thing.

My story begins when I decided to take a break from my busy life and go on an epic journey around the world. I was soon joined by my hitchhiking pal, Nagolbud, and together we've seen some incredible sights and met some amazing people! From hopping trains in Eastern Europe to exploring the wilds of Australia, I'm sure you'll love hearing about our escapades.

During the mid 1990's when U.S. tourists were warned to stay away from Mexico she and a companion enter illegally into Mexico and hitchhike down the East coast through Chiapas and return up the West coast where she finds herself in the presence of a Mexican cartel. Her unique travel experiences continue when she hitchhikes a sailboat ride to the Bahamas on a boat with no engine and on to Venezuela where she experiences student riots and the anger of a madwoman. Travels with A Road Dog are the true stories of a young woman who discovers herself and the world around her through her radical love affair with the road. Not only is hitchhiking considered an unconventional way to travel, but it is rarer still that this journey was completed by a woman.

This is a true story of an exciting part of my life and I am happy to share it with the readers. A story of adventure and travel by hitchhiking from Asia to Europe and back and the fabulous experiences and nightmares along the way. I hope, readers will find it as interesting as were my experiences at the time. Finally, I hope some young people reading the story will be encouraged to discover those parts of the world that they have always wanted to go to, but have never been.
