Short story about an escaped prisoner.

This is a true story of an exciting part of my life and I am happy to share it with the readers. A story of adventure and travel by hitchhiking from Asia to Europe and back and the fabulous experiences and nightmares along the way. I hope, readers will find it as interesting as were my experiences at the time. Finally, I hope some young people reading the story will be encouraged to discover those parts of the world that they have always wanted to go to, but have never been.

Zeus Bakas was just a farmer in Greece when he came across a mysterious man at the witching hour wearing a chiton. Being the kind soul that he is, he offers to help the man get to where he needs to be. The man soon reveals that he is Hades, God of the Underworld and from there, Zeus seems to never be able to catch a break from these gods and their hitchhiking ways. James Johnson is a tenth grade boy who never had friends, he was always one to get bullied, hurt and much worse. James was very poor and his parents... Always thought of him as a mistake. One day as James was on his way to school, he passed a nearby alleyway, he saw a boy who was about his age and grade getting pushed around by a few of his own bullies. He wanted to stop it so he interfered, protecting the boy... On another particular day, James's parents kicked him out.. On his way he mets the same boy... And so begins their adventures.

Isabelle Bradley has a hard life. Her parents are abusive; and because of this she can't seem to focus on school, mostly because she's always asleep. And, because of an incident with her high school Spanish teacher's son, and the constant bruises from her parents, she has also been labeled as the wh.ore of the town, by both her peers and the adults around her - especially her parents who only feed the fire of lies. Deciding to go where no one knows her, she runs away, attempting to hitchhike from Colorado to Florida and live with her aunt. Enter Lake Richards. Nineteen. Alone on the road, just the way he wants it. He's on his way to Texas, hoping to find a home that might fill a void in his damaged heart. When he picks up a cute blonde off the side of the road in Kansas, he only intends to take her as far as he has promised. He doesn't need anyone with him, when he wants people to stick around they tend to leave. His already unsteady life is turned upside down when, after stumbling upon a mysterious girl's disturbing secret, he's sent on a dark journey into the mind of a killer that could very well end in prison or an early grave.

Once upon a time a friend said to me: "Do you know some people are kissed by luck and flying through life like birds, but you are different. You can not fly and nobody wants to kiss you, but you have a really sweet relationship with misfortune.". Sadly, she was right with this statement. Maybe at the beginning everything looked like a fun adventure but it turned into something bigger than a little trip through this country.
