Shinsou has a crappy life. No friends, drunk beating father, abandoned by his mom. One day he comes home to find his house destroyed and his father dead, all done by a villain. Now an orphan middle schooler, he doesn't know what will happen and if he's even able to get into his dream school, UA. That is, until a certain hero adopts him... • The story takes place in bnha's universe, starting when they're all still in 3rd year of middle school. • Angst. Denki is numb on the outside he's bubbly and electric but when he's alone the mask drops. Sometimes he sits on the roof of UA and just thinks in the quiet. On one of these days, he starts to talk to himself not expecting anyone to hear him but someone does. Denki starts to find notes on the roof addressed to him telling him how special he is, who writes these notes he doesn't know, what he does know is that he's falling in love.

Shinsou has been in the foster care system for as long as he can remember. His last home was the worst of all. He wasn't treated as part of the family, but more as a way of gaining income. And when he did something wrong, instead of being talked to, or grounded like the other kids, he was punished.. Physically. Nothing that could be considered torture, thankfully, but obviously nothing good, either. Now, he's landed himself a place in the home of Shota Aizawa and Hizashi Yamada, who happen to be two teachers at UA High, which also happens to be the school that Shinsou goes to. Shinsou is quickly placed in the heroes course, in Aizawa's class. He is treated just like all the other students at school, but at home, he's treated as if he's actually part of the family. During the night, Shinsou often has night terrors of many of his previous foster homes, which leads to insecurity, and worry that this home will eventually become that way too, but he's always provided comfort and reassurance by one or both of his new dads. The day they decide to officially adopt him is the best day of his life. He's officially part of the family. He could not be happier. He even starts to get to know some of the students in his class. Specifically one group, with a boy by the name of Denki Kaminari in it. He's quickly welcomed into their friend group. Things seem like they couldn't get better. Shinsou continues to have night terrors, which cause him to stay up many nights, and his insecurity about his quirk, but with the help, and love, and encouragement of his family and friends, things get better.
