Jason and Emery have been friends since they could walk. Their families are close and will always be. No one knows this though because they fall into different social groups at school. Jason is loud and a popular hockey player, specifically the captain, Emery is quiet, smart, and a figure skater. No one knows the figure skater part but Jason. They don't talk to each other in school and neither of them will break the cycle. That is until the hockey team finds Emery with her partner practicing for a competition.

After a major fall on the ice, Avery Reid hangs up her skates for good. Or, so she thinks. Figure skating is her passion, but she has good reason for wanting to escape, even if that means giving up her dreams. Between her former coach breathing down her neck and her father, owner of the ski resort the skaters use to practice, cornering her at every opportunity, she has to either face her fears or walk away for good. Drew Walker is a new student at Creston University, riding a full hockey scholarship as the newest Creston Ice Hawk.
