Previously named "Boring Office Work" in my Warriors Human Short stories book. "Her Second Chance" is about Cynthia (Cinderheart) after having been mistreated from when she was teenager up to just a few years ago. She's okay with her life, happy with her career, avoiding virtually every person of the opposite gender, and finding herself jolting awake at night from nightmares plaguing her into silent exhaustion. To be honest she's actually falling apart but refuses to tell anyone, taking her own burden and shouldering it every day until her best friend's younger brother enters the picture. Who is he? And why won't he leave her alone? All she wanted was a quiet life with her son and keeping one step ahead of organized crime. Or did she? She could've sworn that's all she wanted until her broke through her walls and she found herself drawn toward him without her permission.

Jayfeather opened his eyes, he could see! He looked around, the only thing he could see was the harsh slopes of the mountain. Suddenly he picked up a scent on the breeze, "Half moon" he murmured. A beautiful white she-cat stepped out from behind a pile of rocks, "Jayfeather" she said " I have something to tell you" she whispered as he padded up to her. "yes?" Jayfeather replied with confusion in his voice.
