I awoke to a loud knock on the door. I heard momma open the door. "Pack up your things", barked a scary nazi soldier. My mother came running upstairs. She said to me,"Delilah pack up your things and go tell Augustus". I took a pair of clothes,shoes, and my star of david my jewish church gave me. i told Augustus (who was my little brother) and then went to my baby sister Evelyn's room to get her things packed up. We were as tightly packed as sardines in a can. I could hardly breathe, in fact some people were suffocating!! My mother started to cry. I for one knew where we were going, I was terrified too for I have no idea what the concentration camps were going to do to us.
