histórias de Holodomor

A short novella I wrote during my sophomore year of highschool, sometime around 2019-2020. It follows the path or Mordec, a young man during the Ukrainian famine of the 1920's and his escape out of the country.

Okay so this is just a story I wrote for my GCSE English Language Creative Writing which earned me full marks which is pretty cool, hope you enjoy :)

A man survives Holodomor, and is left with guilt and an illness causing him to go blind. He finds a spell that can fix his issue, but he will need to eat human flesh for the rest of his life. He find a man to be his sacrifice, but falls in love with him. What will he do?

Follow the brave story of two girls and their great escape from Soviet Ukraine during the Holodomor. But first, they must survive the soldiers at their doorsteps and the hunger that strikes harsher and harsher. Yuchemka, a courageous and strong-willed girl leads the escape as she and Anna, her neighbour, flee to Poland by car, train and on foot. See as they experience love, loss, and grief. To my Grandma Yuchemka, for all the stories I have learnt and will continue to learn. Never forget.

In the winter of 1932, approximately seven and a half million Ukrainians and other citizens under Soviet influence were starved to death during a man-made famine. Some call it genocide instigated during a rise in Ukrainian nationalism. Others view it as the unfortunate result of mass-industrialization. Regardless, the death toll was catastrophic. Herein is the fictional story of two families that face the worst of the very real disaster head-on, and in the turmoil must question their leaders, their trust in each other, and their own moral guidance if they are to survive the Holodomor.

Young Lena, age 7 is enjoying the life of Ukraine hoping it will lasts, but she was shown it wouldn't last. Harder times were coming straight toward her, her family, and her dearest Ukraine. When the Holodomor(starvation) has occurred in Ukraine, it was a very fearful experience. Everywhere she looked children and families where dying on the streets of Ukraine form having no food or water. People try to survive, but everyone is only skin and bones. How dreadful it was going through the pain. When will all the tragedy of Ukraine come to an end? Will Lena and her family survive through the troubles of Ukraine? Read to find out.
