As the dream faded, and darkness appeared, I cried in my sleep. This was the fifth time this week I had done this. I barely got any sleep and Germany's daily routine health runs, weren't even keeping me up to my happy go-to self. I sniffled; wiping off the rest of my dried up tears, and curling up under the thin covers. I don't know what has gotten into me, but I feel as if every time I'm day dreaming...every time I'm sleeping... I see him. I see Holy Roman Empire... But why?

The time is World War Three. Veneciano is dying. Slowly, painfully, and alone. While all the other countries are working on ending the war with Russia, he lies in his bed day in and day out hounded by frequent, yet mild, heart attacks and fits of coughing. One day, North Italy had enough, and attempted suicide. The time is World War Three. Germany is on the Allies now, to make up for what he did so long ago. But even when he wins the war, there are always regrets you cannot bury away... The time is World War Three. Is there any hope for these two, broken countries? Maybe all that's left for them... "Why doesn't he remember me?" My voice was hardly more than a murmur, but the question seemed louder than gunfire. At least with gunfire, the bullet that followed might have hit someone else. "Is it me? Is it something I'm doing wrong?" I paced restlessly by my bed, trying to control my frustration and guilt. My dogs watched me, whimpering and tilting their heads with bewilderment. "I don't get it. He's still the same, but-" I stopped pacing. Something had clicked in my head. It wasn't him at all. It was that I'd tried to tell him who I was. I swerved off my pacing path and made towards my old wardrobe. Shoving aside uniforms and suits, I forced my way into the back of the wardrobe and tugged open an old box, dusty and smelling of age and nostalgia. I reached into the box, praying to God that it was still there. My hand closed around its handle, and I let out a shaky sigh of relief. Telling Italy didn't work. I decided that I had to show him.

I just thought that I should write this sweet story about Italy's relationships with both Holy Roman Empire and Germany. I love HRExItaly and GerIt! I just had to make this, or else it would only be in my head, making me cry. I thought I should share this with you. Italy keeps recalling memories of Holy Rome, in particular the ones that made him feel broken inside. He couldn't help it. Then comes the day, where Germany has a confession to make.

Holy Roman Empire re-unites with Italy

St. Augustine of Hippo is the patron of brewers because of his conversion from a former life of loose living, which included parties, entertainment, and worldly ambitions. His complete turnaround and conversion has been an inspiration to many who struggle with a particular vice or habit they long to break. This famous son of St. Monica was born in Africa and spent many years of his life in wicked living and in false beliefs. Though he was one of the most intelligent men who ever lived and though he had been brought up a Christian, his sins of impurity and his pride darkened his mind so much, that he could not see or understand the Divine Truth anymore. Through the prayers of his holy mother and the marvelous preaching of St. Ambrose, Augustine finally became convinced that Christianity was the one true religion. Yet he did not become a Christian then, because he thought he could never live a pure life. One day, however, he heard about two men who had suddenly been converted on reading the life of St. Antony, and he felt terrible ashamed of himself. "What are we doing?" he cried to his friend Alipius. "Unlearned people are taking Heaven by force, while we, with all our knowledge, are so cowardly that we keep rolling around in the mud of our sins!"

Like many Hetalia fans, I wondered if Germany and Holy Roman Empire were the same person. Here is my point of view on this question!
