To the ones who chose to stay and the ones who chose to go away, to memories and all the places that witnessed them... We all have our roles in our life, we are all different people at our worksites compared to us at home or when we are with friends, we all have our places and we also have places that we share memories with as we interact with people... So I decided to write a compilation of short stories called "Places".

Eden is a world much like our own. Expect for the fact that it was created by a holy goddess by the name of Harmony. Long ago Eden was just a barren wasteland until Harmony descended from heaven. By planting a sacred seed into the wasteland a great tree sprouted. That tree was named Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life. Mana flowed from its roots and birthed the inhabitants of the land. They were humans, elves and beastmen and as such they governed Eden. For centuries these three races all lived in tranquility. That is until one day a dark shadow shrouded Eden in darkness. The humans and elves were not affected by the darkness but the beastmen were. They became savages and bloodthirsty. They started to attack the humans and elves. When all hope seemed lost and the hour of doom was at hand Harmony intervened. She was the one who gave the humans and elves hope. She had done so by leaving behind a sacred sword named Masamune, Heaven's Blade. The sword was stuck fast in the trunk of Yggdrasil and only her chosen hero could pull it out. Years have passed since then and now a young princess has begun having prophetic dreams of the goddess's chosen hero. Only time will tell when they shall arrive to save Eden. And as fate would have it Harmony's chosen hero is but a simple human farm boy living in the country. *All rights reserved **Legend of Diana is my very own original series idea ***Credit goes to the artist who created such a cute little anime princess for the book cover

There's something hairy happening at Shady Side Elementary... Max and his friends never expected fourth grade to get this weird. Their new teacher, Mr. Harper, is strange enough - with glowing eyes, sharp teeth, and a scent like wet dog and pine trees - but when full moons, scratch marks, and spooky howls start showing up around school, the kids start wondering: Could Mr. Harper actually be a werewolf? From sneaky stakeouts to creepy forest chases, the Shady Side Children are determined to uncover the truth. But the more clues they find, the more confusing it gets. One thing's for sure - this is no ordinary teacher. Is Mr. Harper just a really weird guy... or something much, much wilder? There's only one way to find out... But beware - some teachers aren't what they seem.

In which I cast my dear friend Jay Lake as the star in my version of "Joe Vs. the Volcano." Jay passed away from colon cancer on June 1--today (June 6th) would have been his 50th birthday. This story was written in the summer of 2008, after he was first diagnosed, for a private anthology that went only to Jay (and those of us who contributed). May Jay's legacy of kindness live forever in all who knew him.

There's nothing more dangerous than a book, especially in the wrong hands. And, in this world of magic, wars and an alarming number of self-serving, gratuitously selfish people, there are a lot of wrong hands to take advantage. When the world's foremost mage, Anpound Pudbatter (fresh from a magical accident that had turned him back into a teenager with all the associated raging hormones) meets Gammer Goodhiding, the world's most polite, yet indefinably terrifying witch, and Bindi, a Druid who almost has a filthy mouth, they come together to search for an object that could very well spell the end of the world as they know it. Or change it in ways they cannot imagine. From the intermittently high Mount Pintel, to the vast, unending Library, to the indeterminately located city of Lost Vagueness, where hope, and Coin, go to wallow in despair, to the world's most important, prominent, and tiniest city, the three of them must follow the magical chaos wrought by the presence of the book. And with warlords bent on conquest, thieves out for a quick score and a djinn with a mischievous attention to detail in the way, things may not go quite according to plan. And what, exactly, is the origin of the book? Only The Archivist's All-knowing Almanac knows for sure. A love-letter to the works of Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams. The first novel of the ongoing Discworld inspired series.

In West Hollywood Alex Harlow, down on his luck, bags a last minute missing person job before Christmas Day. Can he find the individual before the festive season starts? This is an homage to the golden era of detective fiction. The hardboiled man in the mackintosh of this story bears more than a passing resemblance to the hero of The Big Sleep and Farewell My Lovely.

My name is Flak Tartrum. I'm 15 years old and you would not want to be me. First, there's this thing called the lightning curse that's plagued me for nearly all my life, striking lightning down at me everyday. Second, I'm a demigod apparently and that means I live life on the edge. Everyday if I'm not near a hearth, I could get attacked by monsters any time and I've got the battle scars to prove it. Lastly, you remember what I said about the lightning curse? Yeah, it got worse. Much, much worse. -------------------------- So, I started rereading Rick Riordan's books. My favorite's Magnus Chase but I know more about greek gods than norse so here it is. All inspired, I consider it a homage. I wouldn't say it's a ripoff. Might go on a writing craze sometime.
