To him, the letter he found didn't feel like a threat-it felt like a plea. Now, he is determined to find the killer and serve the justice that was asked of him.

When a mage is found dead, and, at a rough measurement, at least a head shorter, the only clue to his fate lies in the key gripped in his hand. A very magical key that sets the leaders in the Guild of Mages, Prestidigitators, Illusionists and General Wielders of Magic (not including Witches) in a bit of a quandary, because none of them want to touch it. Thus, the investigation is left in the thoroughly incapable hands of the three mages in the highly dangerous, very almost deadly on a daily basis, Thaumatological Gubbins Department of the Guild. Accompanied by a young(ish, these are mages after all) member of the Guild tasked with recording the progress of the investigation, the three mages set out on a perilous journey that will involve several belligerent doors, a three cart race, and, probably, a number of people wondering what the Hel is going on and why one of the mages continues to shout 'Power!' at every opportunity. An ONC novella like no other.

Wilmuh Tremblerod knew from a young age that she would become the world's greatest playwright. Unfortunately, the world, and her talent (or lack of it) disagreed. Until one day, Linus, a young and relatively untrained muse finds her in a bar and inspires her to great things. Of course, she isn't the person he intended inspiring, but everyone makes mistakes. With the subsequent loss of Linus' powers, Willmuh's ability to write compelling and mesmerising plays runs out of control and an alarming number of people decide that Wilmuh has become some literary god, meaning that her very creativity becomes a danger to the world. When a competition is announced to find the kingdom's greatest entertainers, Wilmuh chooses to use her new-found talents to seal her place in history. But with rival entertainers and people in authority rallying against her, Wilmuh may find it harder to achieve than she first thought, and her troupe of wayward and strange thespians may not be able to stop the world from falling under her accidental-spell. And there are faeries, too. But watch out for them, they're really shady. Contains a gratuitous and shameless parody of a Doctor Who episode. I'm not even sorry.

Set in a Sydney private school, in 1979, a group of twelve -year-old boys band together to plan an audacious lunchtime escape, right under the noses of their authoritarian teachers. And their objective? To scoff down a Big Mac at their local McDonald's. Inspired by Paul Brickhill's classic novel of a similar name - together with the 1963 movie - "The Great-ish Escape" is a story of mateship, cunning, daring and gluttony. All the events in this short story seemed very real when imagined by the author as he daydreamed his way through Year 6. If asked, the school would deny that the escape ever happened.

Festivus time is here! By golly! After an avoidably unfortunate incident involving an unnecessarily large cat, with an odd way of choosing its prey, a lazy ogre, and a decision against getting knees cold, a set of brothers, long since thought gone from the world, set out to bring their itinerant feline home before things get really, really messy. Unfortunately, the Festive Boys can't stop themselves from following their Festivus instincts and the village of Drippings on the Lea have no understanding of what's coming. With a reluctant queen, an even more reluctant witch, who isn't really a witch at all, a permanently confused farmer with a rabid fear of thinking, and a reindeer called Civilolph, who has no idea why he's pulling a haywain, the villagers of Drippings on the Lea attempt to get in on a little Festivus miracle, even if they have to fight for it. Deck the halls, not your neighbours!

This story is an homage/parody of the video game series Sonic the Hedgehog. As such, it all takes place on an alternate Earth -- better known as Immobi. This wicked wild world is home to a variety of anthropomorphic animals, including two 19-year-olds in particular. There's the good-sported, itchy-footed, and quick-witted Umeme Cheetah. Then there's the cocky, carefree, and foolhardy Radi O. Peregrine. The cat and bird are best buds who not only share a brotherly bond, but a need for speed as well. Hence their names (translated in Swahili) these two Immobians wield the power of electrokinesis. Pretty self-explanatory, but they're able to generate high amounts of electricity within their bodies -- allowing them to perform various tricks and techniques. The most prominent being to move at literal lightning speed, as our duo race across the vast African continent -- if not beyond -- in search of thrill and danger. Be it open plains, dense jungles, scorching deserts, or etc. etc. -- these sparking speedsters will certainly be there in a flash. Throughout their adventures, Umeme and Radi will come across various characters -- both friend and foe alike. With their most frequent foes being monstrous entities known as Nightmares. Created from a currently anonymous source, each kind varies from shape and size -- yet shares a common goal to wreak total chaos. While these Nightmares are determined to do so wherever they go, both cheetah and peregrine are determined to stop them in their tracks. So don't blink -- 'cuz if you ever see two streaks speed by, you can bet one hell of a storm's a brewin'.

But if that's true, why does he have a stopwatch that ticks backward? What's "Deep Valley," and why do all his workouts sound like they came from a medieval battle manual? The Shady Side kids are on the case, armed with notebooks, rubber gloves, and just enough courage to sneak into Coach G.'s office... again. But with every clue they find, the mystery only deepens. Is Coach G. a monster? Or just the weirdest P.E. teacher in school history? There's only one thing they know for sure... Ogres don't teach gym... or do they?

There's something strange about the new school nurse... She wears sunglasses indoors, avoids sunlight like it's the plague, and keeps a locked fridge full of mystery vials. Oh-and her name is Mrs. Fang. Coincidence? Max, Lily, Jordan, and Sophia don't think so. The Shady Side Children are back and more suspicious than ever. When students start feeling unusually tired and Nurse Fang starts tracking everyone's blood types, the kids launch a full-scale investigation. But when a pale, whispery lunch lady named Ms. Grimsby takes over the kitchen, the weirdness goes full boil. The food is suspicious. The freezer door creaks open by itself. And there's definitely a guy in a chef's coat who only shows up when it's cold enough to freeze your face off. Are the kids just imagining things? There's nothing more dangerous than a book, especially in the wrong hands. And, in this world of magic, wars and an alarming number of self-serving, gratuitously selfish people, there are a lot of wrong hands to take advantage. When the world's foremost mage, Anpound Pudbatter (fresh from a magical accident that had turned him back into a teenager with all the associated raging hormones) meets Gammer Goodhiding, the world's most polite, yet indefinably terrifying witch, and Bindi, a Druid who almost has a filthy mouth, they come together to search for an object that could very well spell the end of the world as they know it. Or change it in ways they cannot imagine. From the intermittently high Mount Pintel, to the vast, unending Library, to the indeterminately located city of Lost Vagueness, where hope, and Coin, go to wallow in despair, to the world's most important, prominent, and tiniest city, the three of them must follow the magical chaos wrought by the presence of the book. And with warlords bent on conquest, thieves out for a quick score and a djinn with a mischievous attention to detail in the way, things may not go quite according to plan. And what, exactly, is the origin of the book? Only The Archivist's All-knowing Almanac knows for sure. A love-letter to the works of Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams.
