This is a folklore fanfic based on the love triangle in august, betty and cardigan. Betty has always been the same. As lively as a butterfly, funny and a little quirky. Self dubious and shy, the new kid, he just might be able to hide his secret when Betty takes him under her wing. Wendy is sick and tired of being her mother's golden girl. But it's the only way. Only way to get back to her old life. The sea of childhood memories. literally. In a time when her cheeks have forgotten how to smile she often catches herself laughing when a certain boy is around. Maybe she can get back to the girl she used to be if she just follows the light James sees in her. But isn't he Betty's boy (or is he?) What happens when Wendy and James visit the same town for the summer and Betty is left all alone. Maybe everything changes. Maybe it changes just like they hoped.
