Joanna Cho isn't normal. She's got a crazy Asian mother, a failing biology grade, and her pug is acting like a banana. Not only that, but she's homeschooled.
She isn't insane though - not like other homeschoolers in her city. But when she's forced to attend weekly homeschooling support groups, she realizes just how crazy they are. Madeleine talks to dead presidents, Henry's obsessed with saving the beluga whale, and Kit is either Einstein reincarnated or a criminal. Possibly both.
But when a beluga whale, a refrigerator, and FDR bring them together, Jo begins to realize that they aren't so terrible.
Maybe there's a little crazy in all of us.
