Where Home Learned My Name Linaty has never spent more than a few hours away from her twin sisters, Mira and Mina. The three of them have always shared everything: dreams, secrets, arguments, and plans for a future that would keep them together forever. Then, at seventeen, Lina's future is rewritten. Married to a man she barely knows and sent to a country thousands of miles from home, she finds herself surrounded by strangers, unfamiliar traditions, and a family she never asked for. Homesickness becomes her constant companion. So does Ibrahim, her quiet, frustrating husband whose dry humor and steady kindness make him impossible to hate and even harder to understand. As university classes, new friendships, family expectations, and old fears collide, Lina must learn that growing up sometimes means letting go of the future you imagined. And sometimes, the people who help you find your way home are the ones you never chose at all. A heartfelt story about sisters, family, belonging, and a love that grows slowly enough to last.

Daughters of Shared Pinafores Series To the outside world, Hwa Xiu Academy for Girls is a place of strict rules and whispered legends. But inside its walls lies a world that transforms ordinary girls into extraordinary women. This is the complete backbone of the academy itself - its elite legacy, the revolutionary shared uniform system, the raw sensory and psychological journey every girl endures, and the unbreakable sisterhood forged through starch, sweat, discipline, and shared scents. From the devastation of a new girl's first weeks wearing a blouse still heavy with another's warmth and scent, to the quiet pride of seniors who casually draw any uniform without hesitation. From the strange longing during the first six-month break, to the voluntary stay-backs where school feels more like home than home itself. Discover the soiled uniform cases, disciplinary periods, black sheep who struggle, the progressive transformation, and the deep conditioning that turns discomfort into profound belonging. This book serves as the official backbone for the entire Daughters of Shared Pinafores series. All stories in the series are built upon this foundation - the rules, routines, culture, and transformative power of Hwa Xiu Academy. #SharedUniform #StrictBoardingSchool #Sisterhood #SchoolLife #CharacterDevelopment #AllGirlsSchool #Transformation Successive chapters may be added over time to further complete the living picture of daily life at the school. Pictures and videos will be uploaded later to further enhance the immersive storybook experience.

I decided to translate something I wrote a while ago into French, and certain parts of it seem more poignant now. I will be living abroad in France and Russia for the next year and a half, and this poem speaks of the homesickness that I am sure to feel. It is also about the difficulty in self-expression, even in your own language, and how heightened that is when trying to communicate in a second language.

While looking at some old photographs, Santiago starts reminiscing about the time he worked on a ship. Countless memories have been forged, and sometimes, with the quick passage of time, he fears such memories could be lost. So, he writes them down, one by one. Some day, it might be easier to read this memoir than try to reach his memories in the dark place, that his mind might soon become.
