Pierhor SA was founded in 1899 and is the oldest Swiss jewel-bearing factory still in operation. Since inception, it has specialised in ruby production, supplying primarily major Swiss watchmaking brands. Gasser-Ravussin SA was founded in 1927 as a pioneer in ruby and sapphire laser machining. It also specialised in jewel-bearing production for the watchmaking sector and diversified into non-watchmaking activities.
