Young Laura is trying to survive in West Texas just after the end of the American Civil War. However, Laura has a secret: before her father died, he gave her a mysterious, silver device: the Horologium. His last words: "Protect it, Laura. Protect the Horologium." Laura has kept the device safe for years, unaware of what it is capable of, and unaware of who is after it. That is until a strange and beautiful woman appears on her door-step, making her an offer Laura cannot refuse, which will lead her to a journey she cannot imagine!
