The description was transferred with the names changed to suit and the plot may change. Initially meant as a homage to Namor and Aquaman, things expanded and may include references to other works set in the Deep.

A plane crash on an island no one knew about is what started it all. The government wanted it all to themselves so they kept the island a secret and only sent 3 detectives from the FBI, a small forensics team and 2 geographers and archaeologists.
