Some houses bleed history. Blackwood Manor demands it.
Architectural preservationist Clara Vance is no stranger to ghosts-she carries her own every day. Still drowning in the suffocating grief of her younger sister's sudden death, Clara accepts a final, isolated contract: document the decaying, historic Blackwood Manor in the Pacific Northwest before the bulldozers erase it forever.
Abandoned in the 1970s following the mysterious disappearance of a radical spiritualist cult, the sprawling, shadow-drenched estate sits locked in a perpetual fog. But the moment Clara steps across the threshold, she realizes the house is far from empty.
The air tastes of ozone, the geometry of the corridors seems to shift when her back is turned, and from the locked basement, something is scratching at the floorboards. But it isn't the shadows that terrify Clara the most. It's the scent of lavender and vanilla drifting through the halls. It's the sound of her dead sister's laughter echoing up the grand staircase.
As the entity inside the walls begins to weaponize her own grief against her, Clara becomes trapped in a psychological cage. To survive the night, she must unravel the dark ritual left unfinished fifty years ago-before Blackwood Manor claims her as its next permanent resident.
