Just a short creepy story that popped into my head a few nights ago. Enjoy! I've marked it as completed but I'm considering making it into a much longer piece. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. **UPDATE** I've decided to try and make a longer story out of this and I've set myself a 300 word target everyday. A young man recounts his rise and fall in matters of the heart. Can a blackened soul find redemption?

John's husband, Gary, wanted to get out of the city. He wanted to be a homeowner, to live the good life in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle, and somehow, he talked John into it. For Gary, everything is perfect. For John, not so much. And things go from bad to worse when, one morning, John is awoken by sounds in the driveway. Why did the neighbours warn him about strange things happening in the mountains? Who left him a note telling him not to make noise at night? And who, or what, is moving around in the garden when the sun goes down? This short story was inspired by the horror stories the author has read about the Appalachian mountains, and by the existential dread of modern life. Hope you enjoy!

This is a short story, a scary story to be precise. One, that maybe you could tell in the dark. This is the first of many that I will make, and hopefully you all like them. I keep having the same dream lately. I am being escorted into a vast room by what appears to be a friend, but I can't remember his face. The room is so vast, and at each end there is a massive door. If I had to guess, there are probably more than 100 doors. I vaguely remember that I was waiting for someone. After a few minutes, all the doors slammed shut with loud bangs. I didn't move for some reason. After a while, I started to panic and proceeded to try them one by one. Now I was banging on each door, making unintelligible loud shrieks because I couldn't open any of them. I was at my wit's end; I kept on banging, but none would budge. Suddenly, all the doors opened. I instinctively backed away a few feet. As I glared through the door, I saw a long, smudged shadow moving across the shiny floor. When I panned around, I could see the same type of shadows on the floor coming out from each door.

This is the start of a collection of short horror stories developed by AI but actually imagined by a young mom of two. I have always wanted to be a writer but never had the time to focus on writing. ChatGPT gave me the great opportunity to see my ideas generated. Please to come for me with the AI replacing writers. It can never replace the beautiful rendering of a real person.
