The town’s sheriff and mayor is down right corrupt. The small town of Yancie is no where on a map, there is one way into the town and one way out. Most of the town occupants are uneducated share-croppers from early 18th century settlements. The sheriff runs the small town with an iron fist---the chosen are amongst the elite and the privileges to be such are unimaginable. So, everyone takes a chance to become one of he towns gems. Those that are not chosen, live a life of bondage and sorrow…. imprisonment, surrogacy, or servitude…They have no choice!
